This is the second photo taken from the famous Liberty Island, home of the Statue of Liberty. We have all seen photos of the skyline of New York but when I came across this tourist telescope I had two thoughts that came to mine. Firstly, it looks like a big smiling face with two dark eyes and secondly it adds a little foreground interest and breaks up the skyline in a unique way.

Before writing this I didn’t a quick image search to find out if this is called a tourist telescope or if it had a specific name. The first image that came up was of the exact same type of telescope only with the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco in the background. Mark recently took some really good photos of the west coast of American and although I have never been I am seriously considering it as my next big destination for my travels.
